New and emerging digital platforms are not only being exploited for monetary and commercial reasons, but also as a way to drive societal change. Charities, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and smaller campaign groups have all realised the power of digital platforms and social media to deliver their messages. This module will give you the opportunity to use your digital content creation skills to raise awareness and drive change. You will have the opportunity to explore important areas such as health and wellbeing, global poverty, sustainability, diversity, and gender issues, and gain insights into how individual content creators can have the same global impact that was once only achievable by major charities and NGOs. Building on the skills and knowledge developed at HE4, you will develop your understanding of user experience and user interface design, including accessibility considerations, agile design processes, and brand articulation. You will expand your technical skills in prototyping, motion graphics and design for digital media. You will apply your skills and knowledge to the development of creative solutions to address the needs of a social impact brief. The Graduate Attributes developed in the module are: Problem Solving, Global Citizenship, Adaptability and Confidence.
