This module introduces you to the concept of digital cultures and examines contemporary and cutting-edge media practice and environments, looking at how different platforms affect both production and consumption. It will look at the social, political and economic implications of emerging platforms and technologies, and investigate the impact social media has on culture and social identity. You will explore convergence culture and the impact of emerging hybrid media forms, think about digital audiences, examine the social issues surrounding online culture, and analyse the impact the digital has had on our culture and identity.
