PHY7002-21-UOB-A Function of the Human Body in Health and Illness

This module develops the critical understanding of the structure and function of the neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiraratory systems and the mechanisms by which they can be analysed. Including the establishment of clinical skills in the evaluation of patients mobility and function, and through critical appraisal or research, establish the effectiveness of physiotherapy and the prescription of movement and exercise in the treatment of dysfunctions of those systems.

This module will develop your practitioner skills and knowledge in using a range of contemporary modalities and manual therapies to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries in the spine, peripheral joints, and body tissues. You will gain a broad appreciation of the current literature in physiotherapy practice underpinning these treatment techniques, and increase your understanding of pain concepts to help develop your management of an injured client
