This module is designed to help learners acquire and practise the key transferable skills necessary to success in Level 1 Technology modules and beyond. It is recognised, however, that these skills will need to be reinforced and revisited to meet the demands of concurrent and subsequent modules. The particular aims of the Learning to Learn module are as follows: - To introduce students to the concept of key transferable skills. - To develop students' study skills and critical thinking at the outset of their course. - To develop students' communication and interpersonal skills. - To develop students' general IT competence. - To encourage students to develop as an autonomous learner through the production of the personal development plan.

This module is to provide a holistic approach to the industrial enterprise as a system, and to develop an awareness of the influences of technology on industry.
