This module introduces the range of mathematical skills that are relevant to studies in civil engineering at degree level. The fundamentals of algebra, trigonometry, and differential and integral calculus are revisited and developed. Its purpose is to give the students the mathematical background and skills to use on the civil engineering degree course.

Mechanical and Electrical Groups: This module introduces key engineering foundation principles of science and mathematics. The course has been designed to link applications of mathematics to relevant areas of engineering application. Mathematical concepts, procedures, and applications will be taught, and student’s ability to think analytically and to solve problems will be developed.
