Welcome to your final 008 module - MDW 6008
During this module, which will focus primarily on practice and run for the full year, you will be required to achieve all Maternity proficiencies in practice under the supervision of Midwives and other health care professionals.
To support your development in practice, the Midwifery Team here at the University will provide skills and simulation sessions which will be delivered at regular intervals throughout the year.
You will be supported to maintain a professional portfolio to aid your reflection, reflexivity and development.
Knowledge of different maternity care systems will be developed further by also discussing the role of continuity of care even when women have additional care needs.
In this module you will be expected to caseload 3 women across the year and record your experiences within your portfolio.
There will also be an opportunity at this point, for you to have an elective placement where you can negotiate to visit an area outside your home learning environment on an observational basis.
GAME attributes are: Confident, Resilient, Self-Aware and Life Long Learning.
I hope you enjoy this Module and obtain all you can from the content to assist you in your learning journey.
