The purpose of this module is to support midwifery leaders and managers to manage the complex needs and demands of the maternity coordinator role, whilst maintaining a a high level of clinical expertise, leadership, and strategic oversight. This program of study has been carefully developed in response to the findings and recommendations outlined in the Ockenden and Kirkup reports (2022), and aligns with the guidance provided in the Labour Ward Co-ordinator Education and Development Framework (NHS England, 2023). The teaching will be delivered by members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), offering a range of perspectives to enrich learning and support integrated, collaborative practice.
