- The module will focus on the relationship between policy, politics and sport and the scope, considering the effectiveness to engage and develop citizens in and through sport and physical activity. It will also examine the equality of opportunities and key outcomes in sports amongst key social groups, with particular regard to social class, gender and ethnicity. By the end of this module, students will draw on a range of key theories, concepts and models from relevant sociological literature.This module serves to develop employability skills, in line with the university's Graduate Attribute Matrix for Employability (GAME), with particular emphasis on the following attributes: Global Citizen, Enterprising and Self Aware.

- This module aims to provide students with the experience of independently designing, carrying out an appropriate research study of their choice, culminating in the writing of a dissertation, composing a research portfolio and dissemination of their findings. In turn, students will investigate one significant research issue or problem, under the supervision of a tutor, associated with the inter-related disciplines of; physical activity and health, sport development, sports coaching and sport business management.This module serves to develop employability skills, in line with the university's Graduate Attribute Matrix for Employability (GAME), with particular emphasis on the following attributes: Resilient, Effective Communicator and Lifelong Learner.

- The module provides a focus on the inter-relationships of sport, business and international development. The global growth of the sport industry has prompted the requirements for professional and commercial management of sports businesses. Students will critically evaluate the role of sociology, geography, philosophy, anthropology and culture by comparing various national and international organisations approaches to social policy and conflict resolution. This module may allow international study and/or field trips.
