This module introduces students the principles of modern logistics and logistics management and helps them to evaluate the role of logistics in the supply chain. It will explore geopolitical tensions within logistics among countries and across continents as well as the influence of an unabated pace of technological advancement. Students will develop a critical understanding of the management and planning of logistic operations from one-off projects to high volume distribution. The module uses a range of real world and simulated examples to encourage students to develop solutions to contemporary logistics problems. This module is highly relevant to industry and recognises the importance of ensuring that materials and goods arrive on-time, in the right quantity and in a cost-effective manner.
