This module intends to develop your academic and professional skills in clinical research by appraising existing literature, encouraging students to make informed judgements that will transcend into clinical practice and, formulating future research potential within health and social sciences. The module will incorporate the contemporary aspects of research methods and design, and wider applications within healthcare. As the module progresses, you will be encouraged to seek out your own path of development that will lead into constructing a professional project; an area of personal interest and future growth to your own and wider future profession, and aligns with the Health and Care Professions Council expectations as a future registrant as a means of consolidating learning and mapped to the HCPC competencies. Projects will be approved by the module lead and will be provided support throughout. Whilst any reasonable path of interest may be considered for your project outline, you may wish to consider content from module HLT6139 and the potential advances within Primary and Urgent Care. You will finally be expected to reflect upon you research and evidence-driven journey, your performance and both personal and professional development opportunities in the future.
