This module aims to extend your knowledge of the critical importance of effective procurement to the success of organisations. You will develop a critical understanding of procurement from various dimensions that include strategy, process, relationship, and organisational structure. During studies on the module, you will examine a range of organisations, and evaluate their procurement process, developing your knowledge of how the procurement process is typically distributed within organisations. You will also critically analyse procurement processes within an organisation from the point of view of effectiveness, efficiency, environmental and ethical sustainability. This module covers the elements of Contemporary and Choice of the 6Cs curriculum design. It equips students with the knowledge and skills to deploy modern and robust sourcing, purchasing and procurement strategies and tactics in acquiring goods and services in meeting the needs of businesses (Contemporary) by means of selecting an organisation of their choice as a context of critical evaluation (Choice). The GAME attributes emphasised in this module are: Confident, Collaborative and Problem Solver.
