This module introduces students to the jurisprudence of equity and trusts in Common Law systems. The module further looks at applied and specific content and principles of equity and trusts law, as well as the contributions of equity to private law and jurisprudence.
Students would be introduced to the main equitable remedies (specific performance, injunctions), and of the main areas of trust law (express trusts, trusts and powers, resulting and constructive trusts, purpose trusts, breach of trust and remedies).
The module is pivotal for students seeking qualification into the legal profession in common law jurisdictions.
On successful completion of this module students should be able to show a critical understanding of the key aspects of equity and trusts.
