This module is intended to provide you with knowledge and understanding of intellectual property law which is appropriate to the level of study. The module aims to give you the opportunity to develop your legal skills in a fast moving and contemporary area of law. Furthermore, as it is an area of the law which is statute based you will therefore gain a cohesive understanding of law through practical valuable experience of statutory interpretation skills. In addition, the assessment will help students consolidate their learning by assessment their application of law to a hypothetical situation. This module also serves to develop employability skills with particular emphasis on the following GAME attributes: Adaptable and Confident.
The module will develop students' ability to identify, evaluate and critically analyse relevant rules of statute law, case law and EU provisions to realistic situations and problems in order to provide students with a cohesive understanding of Intellectual Property law. Students will be able to consolidate their learning by applying their knowledge to scenario-based assessment.
