he purpose of this module is to enable you to display your knowledge and understanding of engineering design systems and processes by applying the principles of what you have learned during the previous year of study to a design project brief. You will work on concepts, initial ideas, or product modifications and develop them through to at least the prototype stage. Supervision and guidance will be provided by the course lecturers, however, there may be active contributions from actual employers/end users who can join meetings and attend presentations. Feedback will enable you to understand real-world engineering challenges such as cost of production, human interface, materials choice, preparation for manufacture, time constraints, and so on. This module will assist you to develop your social, public, and ethical responsibilities. You will enhance your team working, communication and planning skills as you will be working with your peers in groups.
