This module aims to cover the key areas of cell biology, both from a structural and molecular perspective. The module will cover the structure of the macromolecules essential for all life, before explaining how these macromolecules combine to form organelles integral to the cell function, and allow cells to divide and replicate. This module will help students to develop a sound foundation in cell biology, and will provide the basis for an understanding of the biological context of biomedical engineering.
