This module will develop the student Operating Department Practitioners' knowledge and understanding of the fundamental concepts of human anatomy, physiology and psychology. This module will facilitate the application of indicative content to surgical care practice, including the psychological health and wellbeing of the perioperative patient and practitioner. Key topics taught and assessed will include normal anatomy and physiology of the human body, pathology, the ageing process, haemodynamics, human genetics and psychological health and wellbeing.
