THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF THE NATION'S CHILDREN IS NOW A MATTER OF AGENCIES WORKING TOGETHER MORE COHERENTKY THAN EVER BEFORE. IT IS ALSO A MATTER OF PROFESSIONALS WORKING EFFCETIVELY WITH THE APPROPRIATE EVIDENCE BASE. PRCATITIONERS NEED TO RESPOND APPROPRIATELY TO CHILDREN WITH A DIVERSE RANGE OF COMPLEX HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL NEEDS. WITH SUCH CONSIDERATAONS IN MIND THIS MODULE WILL ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO:
1. Adopt an holistic approach to supporting the health and well-being of children in the early years.
2. Explore and evaluate strategies of health promotion in respect of children's health & well-being through co-ordinated programmes of action.
3.Undrstdnd how prevention & early intervention to ensure long-term health gains are possible when local authorities and others work in partnership with the NHS.
