The aim of the module is to examine the place and position of the child in the community. This will examine the different legislative frameworks that may be applied to the child in modern Britain, starting from the Children Act 1989. There will be a focus on the social and emotional development of children 0-8 years and the frameworks that aim to support and develop this. The module is designed to prepare students in readiness for the workplace.
